About Us

Welcome to the original Wombats: Vienna´s famous backpacker haven since 1999! This one was voted into the top ten hostels worldwide in 2002, 2003 and 2004. We´ll make sure that you will feel safe and welcome here.
We know what it´s like being
on the road all day, seeing the
sights and all that walking and
more walking, so it´s cool to
have a nice vibe at the
womBAR (which includes a
sun terrace!) where you can
have a few beers, talk and
make new friends. This will
make your stay a memor-
able one! Many travellers
have stayed quite a bit longer than
they had planned to.

How to Find Us

From Westbahnhof:
take the main exit and turn right into äussere Mariahilfer
Strasse. Follow Mariahilfer Strasse until no. 152 (corner
Rosinagasse). Turn right into Rosinagasse - Grangasse
is the second street on the left.

From Südbahnhof:
Take Tram no. 18 to Westbahnhof. Left of the
Westbahnhof train station is äussere Mariahilfer
Strasse. Follow Mariahilfer Strasse until no. 152 (corner
Rosinagasse). Turn right into Rosinagasse - Grangasse is
the second street on the left.

From Franz-Josef-Bahnhof:
Take Tram no. 5 to Westbahnhof. Left of the Westbahnhof train station is äussere Mariahilfer Strasse. Follow Mariahilfer Strasse until no. 152 (corner Rosinagasse). Turn right into Rosinagasse - Grangasse is the second street on the left.

From the Airport:
most conveniently is the shuttle bus to Westbahnhof (6 Euros). The cheapest option is the S-Bahn to Wien Mitte and subway U3 to Westbahnhof from there (same ticket valid for both, 3 Euros). The "City Airport Train" (CAT) is a few minutes faster than the S-Bahn, but costs 8 Euros.
