Newer, better, nicer! Opened in May 2006, this is our 2nd hostel in town. Top location right on Vienna´s main shopping road. Train and underground stations are only a 1 minute walk away.

We have put the womBAR (open dusk till dawn here) under sound-proof brick arches in the basement to keep the noise away from your room.

Unfortunately, cleanliness is not always a given in many other hostels, but it is of great importance to us. Wombat´s Vienna was voted the 'cleanest hostel worldwide' in 2003 and only lost this award to Wombat´s Munich in 2004. There you are!

We are centrally located and close to the train station and public transport. All our rooms come with comfy wooden beds, private shower & toilet facilities and free lockers for your belongings. You´ll get a free set of bed linen, a free welcome drink and a free city map with all the essential information what´s going on in town.
We offer an all-you-can-eat breakfast, our lively womBAR which serves cheap drinks and food, internet terminals, a laundromat, a guest kitchen, 24-hour reception and - of course - no age limit, no curfew, no lockout and no stupid rules.
You won´t find all of that anywhere else in town.

We know what it´s like being on the road all day, seeing the sights and all that walking and more walking, so it´s cool to have a nice vibe at the hostel where you can have a few beers, talk and make new friends This will make your stay a memorable one! How to Find Us

From Westbahnhof:
Take the main exit and turn right on to Mariahilfer Strasse. 'Wombat´s City Hostel Vienna - The Lounge' is on the second block on your left hand side.

From the airport:
Take Shuttle-Bus to Westbahnhof. (follow directions from Westbahnhof from there)

From Franz Josef Bahnhof:
Take tram No. 5 to Westbahnhof. (follow directions from Westbahnhof from there)

From Sudbahnhof:
take the tram No. 18 to Westbahnhof. (follow directions from Westbahnhof from there)
