Travellers Hostel
address: Soukenicka 43
HOSTEL DETAIL
About Us
Right in the centre of the historical town, in two houses from the 14th century, you find Travellers´hostel offering a comfortable bed whether you sleep in a dorm, a double room or a privat apartment. The staff is friendly and professional and - of course- English speaking. Our restaurant offers the best international fare in town, and the bar is the heart of Krumlov nightlife, both for locals and backpackers. Here you can see live bands, meet new and old friends and get caught in all-night parties where /almost!/ anything goes.
How to Find Us
By bus: Get off at a bus stop Spicak. Cross the main road and walk towards the castle. Go through the parking lot /"Jelenka"/ and walk under the castle bridge. Cross the river on the footbridge and continue straight ahead. After the little mill bridge, you take the first left, then the first right. Behold - you are on Soukenicka street! We´re in no.43, the second house on your right.
By train: Turn right as you leave the station, then left at the end of the street. Follow this street until you reach a steep downhill /just before the wooden "umbrella"/. There you´ll find a shortcut path leading down on left. Once you´re down, follow the main road towards the castle, and as above.
By car: Park in P1- "Jelenka", just in the shadow of the castle, or you can leave your car next to the street next to P for free. Find us as above.
Things to Do around Us
First of all, you´ll need at least a day to walk around this idyllic town, get lost amongst the narrow winding streets and try to figure out how the river can possibly be here - again! If you´re into history, take a guided tour and find out what´s behind the pretty facades...Then you have about 150 restaurants and pubs to pick from when it comes to nutrition intake and rehydration. You can walk through the castle courtyards for free, day and night, but it might be worth it to take one of the guided tours for seeing what´s inside. Get your art - fixes in the many galleries in town, and find if modern art does it for you, the Egon Shiele Centrum is a must. The countryside around Cesky Krumlov id ideal for hiking, so pack comfortable shoes. The trails in the forest are well marked and easy to follow, and you can choose anything between a leisurly stroll and a brave hike up to Mount Klet /the highest in the region at 1084 m.s.l./. Rent a raft and spend an afternoon on the river, with or without stops for beer and grilled sausage. You can also rent a bicycle and explore the countryside till your legs give in, or you can go horseback riding. We´ll be happy to help you with bookings for these activities.
