About Us

Lazy River Hostel is located in Loket, Czech Republic in the western part of the country (West Bohemia). We are about 2 1/2 hours west of Prague. Loket is one of the Czech Republic's most picturesque towns. Nestled within a sharp bend in the River Ohre, the tiny medieval village is dominated by its magnificent castle (Hrad Loket) and surrounded byt the lush hills of the Slavkov Forest (Slavkovksy Les).

Our hostel is very small. At the moment our total capacity is only nine beds! We offer a friendly and very laid-back environment with a helpful English-speaking staff and lots of information about the area area and things to do here. The hostel is located in an historic building right next to the castle and about 1 minute from the town square. We have a large common room, bright and clean dormitory, kitchen facilities, laundry service, small library, and an easy-going atmospehere.

In the summer (and winter) there are lots of nice hiking trails to explore, opera's and concerts in the outdoor theater with stunning views of the castle, good day trips to go on, a cool castle to explore, and lots of opportunities to just chill out. In addition, Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic's most famous spa town) is only minutes away by bus.

In the winter Loket is usually covered in snow and is a great place to spend the holidays or take a break from your trip. This time of year we usually go snowboarding/skiing at least 2-3 times a week at a nearby ski resort depending on snow conditions. Guests are welcome to come along and equipment rentals and lessons are available at the ski center.

How to Find Us

From the bus stop walk across the bridge into town. Take the first left onto Kostelni. We are located at Kostenli 72. From the train station walk up-hill along Nadrazni. Enter town and pass the large, black tower, then turn right onto Kostelni. Look for number 72.
• From within Czech Republic buses are usually the best way to get here but not always. There are at least a couple of direct buses each day from Prague and they take about 2 1/2 hours to reach Loket.
• The best thing to do is to take a look at www.vlak.cz and check out the latest times. This is the Czech transportation website and it includes an English option and is very simple to use. When you type in Loket it will give you the option to choose between Loket and Loket u Cetich. We are the option that just says Loket! Good luck and feel free to give us a call if you need help.
