HOSTEL DETAIL

About Us

The hotel Acropolis House is a beautifully preserved building of the late 19 th century, in excellent condition and since 1965 it is operated by Choudalakis family as a hotel. The building is a government designated landmark and in some rooms frescos of the 19 th century where revealed from the earthquake of 1999. Frescos of the same period adorn the entrance.

The Hotel is located in a residential area at the beginning of the old city of Athens (Plaka), on a quiet pedestrian street. In short distance there are parking. The Hotel is only 10 minutes away from the monument of the Acropolis, 3 minutes from Synta-gma square (Metro station, express buss E95 from and to the airport) and 2 minutes from the com-mercial center of Athens (Ermou street). There are also museums in approximate areas, pedestrian streets for pleasant walks, nice cafeterias, restaurants, places to hear live music and services like laundry, drug stores and tourist information office.

The cultural legacy of the area, the wonderful paintings of the building that are saved in excellent condition and the warm, accommodating and humorous spirit of Choudalakis family and personnel motivates professors, teachers, artists and in general spiritual people to be accommodated in the hotel.

The hotel encourages a policy of non-smoking on communal areas and in the rooms. Clients may smoke at the specially wrought veranda of the first flour and on the balcony if the room has one

How to Find Us

To come to our Hotel from the Airport you may use the metro -Blue Line- and get off on Syntagma square; then following the map in 5 min you will be at your hotel.

If you prefer the bus you will take the Express line E95 to Syntagma square and then follow the map.In summer time, especially in August, there is no traffic so it is preferable to take the bus. Also it costs half the price from the metro and you are able to see the city (the metro is underground). Most importantly the bus is air conditioned.

Of course you can also take a taxi. Do not forget to inform the taxi driver that the hotel is at the end of Voulis str., the second street crossing Metropoleos str from Syntagma square.

From the port (Pireaus ) you can also take the metro to Syntagma square and follow the directions described above

Things to Do around Us

The location of the hotel is excellent as it is only 5 min away from the city center where you can do your shoping, exchange money or an other business activity. Also you have buses and metro lines just 5 min from the hotel that connects you with any where in the city (even to beaches)
Further more the hotel is at the begining on the old city where there are numerous restaurants ,museums and important sites
