About Us

We are located directly between the Jungfraubahn train station and the Männlichen cable car station.

Free car parking for guests, overnight and during the day.

All bedrooms (2, 4 and 6-beds) have washbasin with hot/cold water and storage lockers. Central shower and toilet facilities. Overnight price includes continental breakfast buffet and evening use of kitchen facilities.

Extra charge for blankets and towels.

Self-catering area for groups, 3-5 bed rooms, kitchen, dining and day room.

During the day there are bus and train connections to Grindelwald village centre (15 minutes walk). Free shuttle-bus on arrival from Grindelwald train station to the Mountain Hostel.

The ideal base camp at the foot of the famous Eiger. For adventure and challenge, or just relax and enjoy.

How to Find Us

By Car:
From Interlaken to Grindelwald in approximately 20 minutes. As you enter the village, you will come to a roundabout. There you take the first exit, down the hill and follow the signs to Mountain Hostel, Jungfraubahn and Männlichenbahn. In about 200 m you will see the Mountain Hostel - it's the big blue building on the right. Parking space is available, some under cover, and there's room for coaches too.

By Train:
From Interlaken to Grindelwald in approximately 35 minutes. In Grindelwald you have to change the train and take the Jungfraubahn. Get off the train in Grindelwald Grund (down in the valley - it's the first station after Grindelwald main station). In about 100 m you will see the Mountain Hostel - it's the big blue building beside the river.

On Foot:
From the train station in Grindelwald you should follow the signs down to Grindelwald Grund (the path starts on the left hand side of the Hotel Regina). After a 15 minutes walk you will reach the train station Grindelwald Grund and about 100 m beyond you will see the Mountain Hostel - it's the big blue building beside the river.
